The complex (mausoleumWhat does it mean?-madrasaWhat does it mean?-mosque) was built by Burgi Mamluk Sultan Al-Ashraf Barsbay in 1432.

The complex is remarkable for its distinguished internal decorations. In the north lies the tombstone of Sultan Barsbay.
The complex had a remarkable elongated design.
