Qunsowah El-Ghouri is the penultimate Mamluk ruler. El-Ghouri died in the war against the Ottomans in 1516 and his body was never found so he is not actually buried in the mausoleumWhat does it mean? he built for himself.

Nevertheless, the mausoleum-madrasaWhat does it mean? is also the final resting-place for his family members and Tuman BeyWhat does it mean?, his successor who was hanged by orders of Selim the Grim, the Ottoman Sultan who conquered Egypt in 1517.

The place is currently in restoration and not admissible to visitors.
