The mosque is adjacent to the Bab Zuweila (ancient gate of Cairo). It belongs to the Burgi Mamluk Sultan, Al-Mu'ayyad SheikhWhat does it mean? and was built in 1415-1422.

The minaretsWhat does it mean? of the mosque are actually built over the gate.

The place is currently in restoration and not admissible to visitors.
