Abu Sir
Abu Sir

AbuWhat does it mean? Sir's cemeteries are to the north of the main site of Saqqara. Roads have been paved recently so it's no longer difficult to reach there as it used to be before.

Abu Sir is seldomly visited by tourists as most of its monuments are in ruins. The main attractions of the site are the three pyramids of the 5th dynasty Pharaohs Sahure, Neferirkare and Niuserre. The pyramids are surrounded by scattered remains of their temples and causeways.
