The British Cemetery The British Cemetery

The cemetery lies in a fenced garden just before the village of El-Alamein.

Here 7367 soldiers are buried while other 11'000 allied soldiers, whose bodies were never found, are listed in the cloister that precedes the graveyard.

The soldiers are from different countries but mainly from UK. The inscribed tombstones are arranged in rows, some of them bear the names of the dead but others couldn't be identified.
