Dahab is 65 km (40 miles) north of Sharm El-Sheikh.

Dahab means (Gold) in Arabic. The name is said to describe the glittering golden sand of the city. The city is another good place for diving, snorkeling and swimming.

2.5 km (1.5 miles) to the north of Dahab lies the Bedouin village of Asalah where budget tourists can find cheap accommodations and where you can find most of camping sites.

Some Bedouins organize camel treks to inside the desert. You should register with the police before your trip.
