Bani Suef Bani Suef
image © 2004 Olivia Ann Warren

Bani Suef is 130 south of Cairo and located on the Nile valley like all other Upper Egypt's main cities.

There is nothing particularly interesting in Bani Suef but a small museum that exhibits collection of Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic and Islamic artifacts.

Bani Suef is most famous for its cotton-spinning industry which has a long history there.
It is also a very important agricultural governorate, and is famous also for processing of sugar canes and the sugar industry.
