Ramesses IX is one of the last Pharaohs of the 20th dynasty.
His tomb has three successive corridors that lead to a small
room followed by a four-pillared hall and then a stairway that
takes you down to the burial chamber. The burial chamber has
a pit in the ground where the sarcophagus ,
now missing, was supposed to lie.
Like some other Pharaohs, the king's mummy was found in a cache
at Deir
El-Bahari temple.
The tomb is decorated using text from the Book of the Dead .
Meanwhile it was hastily finished because the king died before
the tomb's completion. |
