It is a Middle
Kingdom necropolis
about 20 kilometer (12 miles) south of El-Menya
city on the east bank of the Nile. The necropolis consists
of 39 rock-cut tombs mainly belong to the governors of the
Onyx Nome.
Only four of these are accessible. The tombs have some of
the finest surviving murals from the Middle Kingdom.
