A huge number of embalmed baboons, ibises and ibis eggs are buried in this necropolisWhat does it mean? which is said to be stretching to as far as Hermopolis. Those animals were sacred to god ThothWho is this deity?.

The mummification process was done in Ptolemaic and Roman eras. Unfortunately fire set in the subterranean tunnels in 1969 and destroyed much of their original look.
