The seventh dynasty ruled
for a very short period during which the country continued to plunge
in chaos and unrest. Provinces continued to be independent with princes
and rulers contended to control independent portions of the country.
The unrest continued in the eighth dynasty with the amplification
of territorial rule. The rightful heirs failed to keep a strong grip
on territories, as rulers of every province were seeking independence.
