At the end of the reign of 27th Dynasty's Darius II, Amyrtaeus, the prince of Sais declared himself a king after leading with Inaros a war of independence. He established this dynasty and Egypt was practically independent at that time.

Amyrtaeus was the only king who ruled in this dynasty.
